Robert Katz passed away at the age of 79.
He is a film and television producer best known for Gettysburg, Selena, and Introducing Dorothy Dandridge. He was also a founder of a medical education company, Medcom, Inc., which he took public.
Katz was a founding member of Showhawks, which is an entertainment industry flying club based in Los Angeles.

Robert Katz died on June 22 at the Valley Presbyterian Hospital in Van Nuys following a long battle with lung cancer.
Katz had been married twice before marrying his current wife Patricia Brown. He also has a stepdaughter, Victoria Flores, and two step-grandchildren, Skyler, aged 17, and Adysun, aged 15.
Flores was from a previous marriage to Pamela Katz. He had also been married to Tishialu Katz.
He is estimated to be worth $5 million.
The burial will take place at Mount Olive Memorial Park on Sunday, June 26 at 11:00 AM.
